Eble lunlumas

This book introduces a tale presented as a minimalist film, from which only the pictures necessary for the story are left. The reader's imagination would give birth to the missing bits.

The text that complements each photo is in Esperanto. Beyond the universality of this language, it gives to the text an enigmatic dimension since non-Esperanto-speakers can not immediately understand it, even if they are able to grasp the story. Moreover, the whole story is summed up in French and in English at the end of the book

The story

The hero puts up against his will with a series of events. As he suddenly became blind, he is forced to reassess his way to consider things. Little by little, the people he meets help him to understand what happened to him.

The place

In Esperanto, the word 'vojo' means both 'way' and 'railway tracks' , which permits a play on words. In the book, the railway track corresponds to the one between La Mure and Gap (Hautes-Alpes), that has never been used. The construction began in 1910 and ended in 1932. The rail has even been lain in some places, and removed later on. Today, the route and all the structures show this past and this work that had been vain.

"JN: «Eble lunlumas» celas ne nur esperantistojn, sed ankaŭ homojn, kiuj ne konas tiun lingvon.

Pascal - www.novelettes.be
